About Eric Peterson Candidate for Mayor of Wyoming, MN PDF Print E-mail

A Little Bit About Eric Peterson...

Raised not far from Wyoming, MN, Eric Peterson graduated from Stillwater Senior High School.  After high school, EActive Imageric attended Mankato State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in visual arts.

Having cooked his way through college, Eric found the culinary arts to be a bit more marketable than an art degree.  After graduation, he became the head chef at Paul's Place in Roseville.  With a nack for math and problem solving, Eric moved on and started to manage bakeries rising to the district manager level, and finally running and owning his own bakeries.

By the time the '90's rolled around, Middle East tensions were rising with Iraq invading Kuwait.  The United States was readying to come to Kuwait's aid.  Food service didn't seem all that important anymore, and Eric enlisted in the U.S. Army to help make a difference in the world.  He spent his 34th birthday in basic training, went on to study the Russian language the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA.  Eric served as a Interrogator/Russian Linguist with military intelligence in the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment.

The late nineties brought Eric back to Minnesota.  As a change of pace, Eric started working with the automotive industry, eventually starting one of the earlier dedicated Internet departments in the business with White Bear Acura Subaru Isuzu.  It was during this time that he met his wife Karla (a real estate broker), taught himself web design and found a flair for graphic arts... a new outlet for his artistic talents.

With the saturation of the Internet market in the automotive industry, and the boom in the housing market, Eric joined with his wife, Karla, going full time with their real estate company, ComeHome2Minnesota Realty in 2005.

Eric and Karla have now been living and raising their daughter in the city of Wyoming for seven years, officing their real estate company from their home on Galen Drive.

A little more about Eric Peterson...

Eric loves to bicycle.  When he was younger, he participated in races in Stillwater and western Wisconsin.  He and a friend even made a couple of trips on thier bikes to Green Bay...  giving themselves 24 hours to make the trip.  During the summer months you cActive Imagean see Eric riding parts of the trail between Hugo and North Branch almost daily, piling up over 1200 miles this summer.

Scuba diving is another thing Eric loves to do.  Eric received his PADI certification while in Aruba. Active Image

A few years ago, Karla and Eric changed their approach to celebrating Christmas.  Instead of exchanging gifts  between family members, Eric and Karla, along with their extended families, bring Christmas to developmentally disabled adults in the Sister Residence in Shoreview.

While in recent years, Eric hasn't been doing too much painting (remember he's an artist), he has been building websites for a number of people and businesses, including Scott Novotny, a former Saturday Night Live writer who Eric and Karla also sponsored to perform at Wyoming's Stagecoach Festival in 2006.  In 2009, Eric and Karla sponsored Hit n Run, the headliner for the Wyoming Stagecoach Festival street dance.

Eric has donated websites to both his high school graduating class and Karla's.   He has also donated a website package to a fund raising auction for the Sharon S Richardson Hospice in Sheboygan.
